The Truth and Myths About Steroids in Bodybuilding

You won’t have as many “hurray” moments as your mesomorph and endomorph counterparts, not because you have to work harder and smarter (although that is true to some extent), but because you won’t have as many “hurray” moments. Simply said, you will put in a lot of effort yet not see any results. Or, at the very least, your ‘ectomorph before and after’ photos will most likely show only minor improvements.

What Exactly Are Steroids for sale? Is It Really That Bad? Are They Really That Great?

This is a pretty unsatisfactory way of working out for many people, and who can blame them? Many people either give up or begin hunting for the “magic bullet.” This magic bullet is known as steroids in the realm of ectomorph bodybuilding.

When it comes to steroid use, most people simply declare they’re awful and go on to list all of the real and imagined unwanted effects they feel the steroids will have on a skinny person like yourself. They’ll start showing you photographs of dead bodybuilders and weight lifters and telling you horror stories about how 5mg of Deca-Durabolin turned a buddy of their friend’s friend into an angry monster with woman’s breasts by Thursday morning.

Then there are those who reject any negative effects as urban legends, claiming that taking steroids is no more dangerous than eating a Big Mac (I guess they may be even righ). They will try to persuade you that steroids are not only safe, but also beneficial to your health. After all, they know a guy who knows a guy who knows a 25-year-old ectomorph bodybuilder who has been using steroids for almost a year and is still alive and feeling better than he has in his life.

The point is that steroid debates are frequently raging, and they are often fueled by personal beliefs rather than scientific evidence. To add to the complication, some companies have produced legal versions of some of the most popular steroids. Primal Muscle Company, for example, has released a legal version of Primobolan, a steroid intended to boost testosterone levels substantially. Obviously, the legal form is not a steroid in the strict sense of the word (it is classified as a supplement), but it functions in a similar manner, albeit without the side effects (or so they claim).

Anyway, back to the “steroid promise land”…
So, should I go ahead and take them? And Here’s Why I Didn’t

So, where do we find the truth? As usual, I’m guessing somewhere in the middle. But let’s not forget about the health concerns that the steroid discussion raises. Would it be a good idea to utilize them if they were fully safe and legal?

Many years ago, I got into contact with steroids and admittedly took some. For a period of two weeks. That is really too little time to assess the effects of the steroids on me in the actual world. But something interesting happened.

I realized I didn’t want to use them because I didn’t want to be afraid of the adverse effects, but because I didn’t want to feel like it was my body anymore. It’s similar to when people took out large debts to buy costly automobiles and houses. These items were never truly theirs, and they were never able to repay the loan. And now look at the shambles.

Steroid use, in my opinion, leads to a similar predicament, only that the asset you borrow against is your own body. I understand the temptation; after all, I felt the same way, even though I was only there for a few weeks. However, the sudden thrill that steroids provide is difficult to resist.

Especially if you believe you’ve done everything you can to attain the physique of your dreams but haven’t seen any results.

You’ve already got a long way to go.

But, regardless of what you believe, I’ll bet you all $30 in my bank account that you didn’t try everything, didn’t experiment enough, didn’t stick to what works long enough, didn’t eliminate what doesn’t work, didn’t stay to your diet consistently enough… you get the picture. You have a lot of room for improvement right now.

Bodybuilding is a way of life, a journey. I know you’ve heard that before, and you probably dismiss it as yet another smokescreen to keep you from experiencing the miraculous effects of steroids, but if you think about it for a second, you’ll see that I’m right.

Your temple is your body.

Steroids do not help you gain muscle mass. They turn your body into a strange, uncontrollable horde of hormones that replace your own. It’s nothing more than a representation of your true self. If you think of it as a Matrix, your muscles are living in a dreamworld controlled by an evil chemical.

Look, I’m not the one to pass judgment on you if you choose to go down that path. But believe me when I say that you will sooner or later. And being both the accused and the judge is a difficult situation to be in.

If you were hoping for a sophisticated piece that would provide you with a road map for safe steroid use, I apologize for disappointing you. If you were hoping for a scientific piece regarding steroids, I apologize for disappointing you. But, if you were hoping for a personal perspective from an unorthodox perspective, I hope you now have something to consider. At the very least, for a few moments.
